Must have been asleep - the 'replica' description was added later but in any case the casting and the fact that it's in 'gold' should have been warning signs. Seen anything similar? By "it", I assume Zohar means "sellers putting 'replica' in the item specifics box, but not in the actual description of the item". As for the coin in question, I concur that it's probably a cast fake. The seller says it has "corroded surfaces", but gold doesn't corrode like that. The silver coin it's copied from is native to Israel/Palestine, so it was probably made as a "tourist copy" for sale in that area. The seller seems to have acquired his information from this coin on CoinArchives. Don't say "infinitely" when you mean "very"; otherwise, you'll have no word left when you want to talk about something really infinite. - C. S. Lewis Report this Post to the Staff
