For the 2005 Jefferson nickels, how do you know if they're business strike or Satin Finish?

I want to buy some BU rolls of them but don't want satin finish. I want just business Strike.

The satin finish coins were only issued in mint sets and have a milky looking surface. If you put a satin finish and business strike side by side the difference will be very obvious. There really isn't any value difference and I don't think the Red Book distinguishes them.

Alright thank you for your reply.

I just didn't want to end up with all satin finish.
But actually there is a value difference. Satin finish sell for
much less because they're just like proofs. So business strikes
can be worth twice the value or even more if you had some very high graded ones.

PCGS says a MS-67 is valued at $1000 in business strike. Satin finish is valued at $8 in SP-67.

If you are buying rolls I doubt they would be satin finish. I cannot imagine someone breaking that many mint sets to fill a roll. Sure, it could happen, but it is very unlikely.

Like Force said, the satin finish really jumps out, especially when viewed next to a normal business strike. Although on their own they look quite obvious to me.

2005 can be a bit problematic though, the mint was still having problems with the satin finish. Some mint set pieces show very little satin finish, if any. And some business strike coins do look like satin finish coins, as if retired satin finish dies were used for striking business strikes.
Rest in Peace

Also, please keep in mind that you would probably have to search hundreds of single date rolls to find a single MS 67. The reason that they are astronomically high priced is because they are astronomically rare.
