I'm really not sure what to make of this. I hope is a retained something or another, But I'm lost on it. Any advice is greatly appreciated!

Looks like gum wrapper foil or maybe solder.

I agree the color just seems odd. But this anomaly is stuck there.I'm not sure that a wrapper would stay on there like that.
