I don't think it depends much on the chain. The best stuff is always the stuff that comes from the street.

electric with BigSilver. And I would like to add that geographicall location plays a big part as well! I'm located in Ca. I have got $500 boxes of half dollars from every bank in my home town of Napa Ca. And didn't have much luck with any of the banks. Of the fifteen boxes that I searched I scored a total of 6 %90 and 16 %40, 0 proofs and 1 clipped 1971. I gave up! It Seems that most of the finds that folks ar finding Franklin's and Walkers and even 1964 Kennedy's are geographically towards the east coast. Edit: I forgot to say that the same for dimes and quarters as far as silver finds, not much luck out here!

The piggy bank (But more seriously, even without having ever been to the USA, I agree with BigSilver.)

Why would one bank be better than another one? The coins that are turned in are random.

when I worked in a store, I would find lots of silver quarters, a few silver dimes, and tons of wheaties in the cash register and tip jar. even when I ordered rolls of coins for the store, I would find better stuff in those rolls than in rolls gotten directly from the bank. I don't know why, but that's how it was.

I have not been coin roll hunting long but what I have noticed is that Umpqua Bank has barely any old or rare coins. My local Tri Counties Bank and Wells Fargo seem to have good coins in their rolls. I wonder if the demographic of the customers of the bank also have anything to do with it though.

No rhyme or reason regarding banks, deposits are random If I want to consistently find silver or old coins, I visit my Local Coin Shop.
