My bank (wells fargo) only carries String & Sons rolls for all denominations. I am wondering if coin hunting these rolls is a waste in terms of silver coin finds or if silver pops up every once in a great while? From what I hear, larger ..franchised banks that have S&S rolls never have silver cause they especially run them through a machine to pluck them out prior to wrapping?

I am curious what your thoughts are on that and, especially, what your success rate was with just S&S bank tolls? Ty

This topic was discussed seven years ago, but might still be helpful information:

String and Sons is a major manufacturer of coin wrapper paper for automatic coin wrapping machines. The coin wrapper has no meaning as to what is inside of the rolls, since there a whole host of different cash logistics companies that use their paper for their coin wrapping machines.

String & Sons also manufacture sorting/rolling machines, but they do not supply rolled coin.
Like someone else mentioned, the name on the roll has no meaning to the possible silver content of the coins inside, which is purely random.

Over the years, I have found silver halves and dimes in these rolls.

It all depends on the luck of the draw, just what was turned in to the "recycle" point of redistribution. There is some concern certain areas are pulling copper from cent mix, which may be so seeing there is an increase in the sales of copper bulk from the collecting company. It may be same for silver but it is a bit more difficult because the separation factor is weight, silver/cuproclad is too close.
