Over the last few days, I've written a long-ish text that I wanted to add as a new topic on the Main Coin Forum.
Unfortunately, I'm having problems posting it. It doesn't show up on preview, it doesn't appear as a topic, it doesn't even save as a draft.
Any ideas why it could be? Browser bug? Caching? Maximum number of characters in a post? Actual CCF server downtime? Combination of several of the above?
Either way, I hope it will be fixed; I really want to post this today.

Well, I have gotten no alerts that anything in it was prohibited so I'm at a loss.
Please Email me the complete post so I can check it out. Bobby@ here.

You may have to think of another way to present a shorter text for your topic title. Fewer words for a topic title would make it a bit easier to understand as well.

No, the topic title was actually fairly short. It's just that my OP text was over 8 kilobytes long.
I guess I should just try posting it again?

@j1m, when I have a fairly long topic, I will write it in MS Word and then cut and paste into the box here on CCF when I'm ready to upload it. While I haven't done this too recently, I have had no issues with this technique in the past. I'm sure that @bobby can get it straightened out.

Tried again, still didn't work. Emailed the post, hopefully to the correct address EDIT: @Spence - I'm using Notepad, but otherwise pretty much the same. Whatever it is, it's definitely not a typing problem.

I understand that your effort may have been wasted. Very frustrating.
Try breaking up into a few shorter posts. It may then be able to upload.
Another problem with very long posts, is that they can take effort to read, if they are not set out well. For ease of reading, I always try to avoid more than 4 lines in a paragraph, and no more than about 30 lines per post. Always preview for spelling and punctuation.

Yeah, it posted fine under my name, then I just changed the author to you in the DB. Who knows, another internet mystery.

Still think it could have been a browser bug. I'm using IE (yes, I know I shouldn't), and my copy of it in particular ends up with random bugs all the time (I wasn't able to get on Twitter for most of this March, because the Google captcha failed to work in the browser).
