hi, I found this 1976 cent with damage, it is showing 3 diff times the TY, in liberty was punched. the damage on the top shows a piece of metal still logged inside, prob a garage job, but I dont see how the (TY) shows letters forward not backwards, like most garage jobs I have seen, just a weird find.

It is definitely all PMD. As to the TY, it may be that whatever punched the original TY became partially impressed with that and transferred it to the coin again upon a second punch.

The TY is in the same position with respect to the shape punched into the coin multiple times.

Soft image transfer, like making a soft die only smaller end. An impression is made in a soft metal stock. Which then is used as a punch, transferring the imprinted portion. This could have been a coin caught in some machine that kept stamping the same image imprinted on its internal parts. This could be a cent caught in ythe mechanical arm of a package sorter. Can't blame the garage imp.
