Nice coin Ron--I really like the three portraits on the obv of your coin.

Also, thanks for the reminder. I had bid on a couple books, but haven't heard back from Frank about whether I won them or not.

Thanks Dave, I've been wanting one of these for some time but they are up there in priced. I was lucky on this one at a reasonable price.

Great looking coin, Ron. I must say that prince looks like a trouble-making jester...he's got a bit of a devilish smile. I don't think I'd trust him.

Looks like his subjects agreed with you Bob as he only lasted four months before being overthrown by Narseh (according to wikipedia).

Superb coin! I saw that one in his listing but I was content with my specimen. Interesting how many variants there are of this coin... Yours has two generic attendants while mine has the Shah standing with the fertility goddess Anahit

I really like your coins Steve. There does appear to be several variants to this type, ie. different crown on the queen, her face more recessed next to the kings. There are also several forms of the kings crown, yours and mine differ somewhat.

I wish there were more reference material available, but we are limited to Gobl, Sellwood (which is very expensive) and a few minor articles and websites.
