1983 P Lincoln Memorial Cent With Reverse Y Die Clash (Last One For Today)

I found this in a circulated bankroll from a bank box of U.S. Pennies. The U.S. Mint worker tried to polish this out using diamond paste, but it didn't work since the Die Clash was too deep and strong into the die.

There are a ton of those die clashes for 1983 p I have seen here. I even found one haha. Pretty nice one too

Thank you Tootallious and Coppergold! Tootallious, I remember that example you sent me. It was awesome! 1983 proved to be a very problematic year for the U.S. Mint for Die Clashes and Doubled Dies. Plus, switching from Copper to Zinc and Copper plating was absolutely disastrous at first before they figured things out. The plating would get contaminated with dust or other crap or the planchets would have material on them (ie: dust, shavings, hairs). That is what I call a "Problem Year" for the U.S. Mint.
