Hi, everyone! Need help in knowing if these two 1953-S LWC have the inverted 'S'...thanks 1) First 1953-S LWC which seems like there's a Cud inside the rounded portion of 9 2) Second 1953-S LWC which has something in the S mintmark I couldn't decipher

The first coin has a Die Chip in the 9 of the date. It's not a Cud. A Cud (Major Die Break) ONLY involves the rim. Please don't use the term Cud unless it involves the rim. The second coin, the Mintmark looks normal to me unless I'm missing something. Mintmark styles also changes from time to time.

that last image show a minor RPM on the top serif to the west direction. I don't see the spread to the west side of the mint mark. Just on the upper serif.

Thanks for the info. Just new in the hobby but I am now a Valued Member of the site, simply by asking for help. That is cool. Now, I know that the term ' Cud' is a specific term to be used involving the rim. 'Die chip' for the field & devices?

Hi, coop. Pardon for the low pix. Hopefully, I can give you better pictures next week. Still with my current low tech pictures your diagnoses are very precise & informative. Thanks Coop.

Also RPM (Re-Punched Mint mark) Serif a split that forms at the ends of serifs (On the 'S' mints they show on the 1:00 and 7:00 areas of the mint mark. On the 'D' mint marks they show at 12:00 and 6:00 on the vertical part of the mint mark) Types of RPMs: Now if someone would ask the question on: The term spread? What is it?, then we could expand our discussion even more.
