Hi Everyone,
I came across this Commemorative Coin and can't find any information on it anywhere. I am interested in it's origin and value. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Steve

It is not a US Mint produced coin, it is a privately made medal. It is possible that it was produced by Medallic Art Company- I think they usually have their marking on the edge of the medal.

Thanks biokemist6. I had a feeling it was a privately made medal as well. The edge does not have their marking it just says Sterling and #288 but I'll check anyways.

Here is a first day cover for what appears to be your item. Maybe you can email them and get some info off the certificate before they sell it.

Some privately made coins are interesting, but ........best to stay away from I think. There's enough U.S. Mint produced stuff in the last two hundred plus years to keep us busy !
