i love these coins and I would like to own them all one day but it would cost a whole lot of money my question is does anyone own a complete type set of these. or is anyone trying to put together a set also my price guide has prices listed for the coins from au50-ms65 did these coins circulate if so why only the prices from au up

Some of the classic commemoratives did indeed circulate a bit. The first program, for the 1893 Columbian Exposition, had many coins left over at the end of the fair. They sold for $1 at the fair but the remainder were dumped in banks at face value and were paid out as half dollars. That happened to some of the coins with higher mintages. Also, some were used as pocket pieces sometimes to remember the commemoration of a person or event. Many of them that did circulate were only lightly circulated, hence the lowest grade of AU.

I found it a long time ago around 1964-1965 getting all the silver 10c 25c & half's out rolls back then my grand mother work at a bank and would bring bags of rolls home for me & my uncle wayan to go thur.that was fun too most of my walker set was made at that time.

I believe one of our Moderators has a great collection of Commemoratives.....not sure if it's "complete" or not though....don't remember.
I'm thinking it was Bryan......apologies if I'm mistaken Bryan. You can click on his link to look at his collection right there wherever he posts. Regardless, do look for where members post links for others to see their collection.....you'll be impressed !
