(Same as Machine Doubling, but on proof coins they are struck more than once) Images from the Wexler site) But what you are missing on the Wexler site is the spread that is present. Looking at the 'L' you are seeing the MD on the 'L' top and bottom. but look on the horizontal on the 'L'? The top of the horizontal is showing the spread. On the second image, you can see the same thing. The spread is on the top of the bottom horizontal. Third image shows the spread on the left side of the devices. Machine Doubling is present, the spread is what is the doubled die area. Also note the devices are enlarged. Note the quote from the description: Quote: 1962 25¢ Pr WDDO-003 "Best Of" Variety Description: A strong spread towards the center shows on IGWT, LIBERTY, the date, the designer's initials, and the bottom of the ribbon.
