Buffalo-Head-Nickel-Is-Cleaning-It-A-Bad-Idea?

I have this 1915 Buffalo Head nickel that is quite dirty, the only silver color you can see on it is on the rim of the heads side and a small drill hole. I know cleaning it tends to ruin the coins value but it's not it very great condition to start with.
If it's safe to clean I'm not sure how I can go about doing that.

DO NOT clean it !

Why is it that Buffalo nickels are, on average, much darker than other issues?

I don't think there is an acceptable way to rehab that coin. Does it have a mintmark?

It doesn't appear to have a mintmark. Here is the back of the coin too.

Forget it , not cleanable . The reverse is not that bad but the obverse is a dead horse .

The Buffalo is considered a cull. Cleaning it won't make the value go up or down.
But I would say just leave it alone.
