numismatic student Bedrock of the Community United States 11896 Posts	Posted 04/10/2018 09:37 am The coin does not look like it has a lot of wear. For me, I didn't think the surface quality was great and did not think it merited an AU designation. By surface quality I mean no indication of any luster. For AU I like to see some trace even if hugging the devices. The surfaces of this coin look well rubbed down by contact. I am guessing you chose a better grade because it was cheaper that the other two coins. The later date IHC's are common so you can afford to be choosy. See my $8 1906 IHC thread.
