Hi all, so I found this roll hunting, the doubling is on the right side of the memorial and America. Is this a DDR, all input is highly appreciated.

Just another MD coin. Note the area you are looking is is flat shelf like. I don't I remember a single DDR on the outside of the building.

Yep, just Machine Doubling - you'de figure by now the mint would bolt them minting machines to a concrete base that's buried 20 feet under ground! STOP that jumping! LOL!

Point, I found one similar to yours. Its a jumper but sure makes you think it might be. Mine has such deep Strike Doubling it catches your eye. Alas the fields of America show all the symptoms of mechanical/strike doubling : Flat shelflike, no serifs or notches. The 83 is definitely a rascal both obverse and reverse. I use my 83 DR 801 and 802 as reference and each time they prove my 803 theory as Strike Doubling and a heartbeat stopper. Lets keep looking for a new 803 variety, the Strike Doubling variety :)

I love looking for Doubled die's for 1983 P, And D's. I also love how the 1983 cents were designed. Amazing DDR's and if you find that copper 1983 cent, boy you gotta check.
To me, when I see 1983, its like getting a lottery ticket.7,752,355,000 (7.752 billion) minted that year, but its still a chance to win big bucks if you know what to look for... ;)
Its too bad this is just some MD! Honestly I would keep it still, Just to show MD off to people so they know what it is, if they so happen to be interested in what you do. Plus, they refer to MD as a poormans doubled die for a reason, in some extreme cases you might get a few bucks for one.. if you are lucky!

Because of the years of the known most doubled dies, a lot of Machine Doubling is wished to be a doubled die. They look so hard to find something, when nothing is really there.

Ever notice, that they always think it is the most valuable one each time?
