As much as I enjoyed the general discussion forum, I suppose it's fair to offer a bit more to those supporting the site. I've considered supporting for a while, and although I don't exactly have a huge cash flow, perhaps this will be the incentive.  After all, Coinfrog made a pretty good point: Quote:Basic sponsorship is just a few dollars a month, or half the price of a single lunch. Skip a meal, lose some weight, and sign up.  |

Many of us had topics we started in the GD forum or topics we were following and us non subscribers are unable to read or follow up on those postings. Rather than locking out non-payers of a forum, I think it would have been better to have those dreaded ads and pop-ups here. While that would have been somewhat annoying, at lease ALL could participate in any forum here at CCF.
Granted this is a coin forum, it is nice to be able to interact with others and get to know them outside of the realm of coin topics.

Punishing the many for the deeds of a few has long been the solution to problems like this. I guess this "solution" was easier than banning the handful of problem posters, as the terms stated. Supporters or not.

In my own defence: I feel as if I am a supporter of this fine site by being active on the site. Many new members do not have to wait very long for a response which makes this site a popular one. I answer posts the best I can, and I think all of this makes this site heads above the rest. I can not afford a monetary donation,so I donate my time. Thank you for reading. John1 |

I really wish this part of the forum would go back to the way it was. I took a month off, came back and wasn't happy with this particular change. This pay stuff is kind of silly to me. Kids and those on a tight budget simply can't afford to do it. That isn't my problem, however, as I'm not going pay for something that was once free more out of principle than anything else. How about making it only for those of us with say 500 or 1,000 posts and remove the money thing?

It wasn't newbies causing the issues. It was long time members. Sorry it had to go down like this but it was a ROYAL pain in the butt. Complaints almost every single day. Just. Not. Worth. It. Problems are now gone, every one is civil. If they become bad again with the current setup then the next step is for it to just go away. |

There were several other forums on here where I made more reports to staff than there. Seems like the GD board was unfairly singled out. CRH Nickeloholic. 1,600,000 nickels searched in eight years!
