Sorry. That is Machine Doubling. Damage to the devices after the strike. They are reduced in size, step down look reflect the same color because that area is flat. Not a doubled die.

Yeah, coop is right. It's just md. Think of a doubled die as the impression of the die having a doubled image, not as the coin being struck twice. In the type of doubled die you are thinking of the doubled part will be the same height as the original device. New collectors get this confused alot, trust me, I've been through it. You'll learn though over time.keep posting though and reading up on the characteristics that way when you do find something legit it will make it all the more special

Not a Doubled Die. Just shows Machine Doubling on the devices which reduces the devices in size. Please do more research and look at this resource I'll provide you. doubleddie.com.
