I bought $5 worth of Lincoln rolls from my bank yesterday so I would have something to do when I got home from work today and before leaving work, as my coworker was counting out her draw, I looked in the change tray to see if anything stuck out and I saw this wheat sitting on top so I grabbed it to bring home and look at closer while doing my other rolls. I pulled it out first and immediately saw what I thought was a doubled 9. I was pretty excited so I checked wexlers to see what variety it was because it's very strong and I couldn't find it. I was a little bummed but then I noticed it kind of looked like the NW corner of the D mm and so I checked the RPMs listed for that year and couldn't find anything that looked somewhat similar. Sorry for being long winded but can anyone give me some info or opinions on what exactly this is. As you can see from the pics it affects the lower part of the 9 in the date and it is raised in case you guys aren't seeing exactly what I'm seeing. Hopefully someone can tell me wether or not I 'cherry picked' a keeper or if it just happens to be a 50 year old booger or something. Thanks as alway

I also thought maybe the 1 was just PMD on the top right corner but now seeing it in the pics and looking at it again under magnificatio, it too looks to be part struck into the coin

By the 1 looks like a die chip and by the 9 looks like a die gouge.

Die chip to left of the nine, and PMD that nicked the top of the MM and cratered in the lower part of the 5.
Rest in Peace

Thanks guys. Yeah, I didn't realize the late wheats had such an issue with die gouges. But after the info I did some research and totally agree.
