1999-2019=20 years. That makes me feel old. I was 13 going on 14 when the first ones (Delaware) came out. I don't recall where I was when I saw my first example, but I remember being excited that there were finally some new designs in circulation. Where were you when you found your first? Do you think any of the hobby magazines will have articles about the anniversary? Will figures and industries in the hobby (ANA, PCGS, NGC, Q. Davis Bowers, Jeff garret, Coinweek, Ron Guth, ANS, NLG etc.) celebrate the anniversary in their own ways? Seriously though. Almost 20 years already!

Time will tell...

The usual pattern was kids collected from circulation, Lincoln Cents, Jefferson nickels, etc.

Then fell away from the hobby in their 20s and 30s as life intrudes.

Some % come back in the 40s 50s or 60s.

Well stated BStrauss - a very normal life progression.

My bank sold sets at face after they were finished in a neat holder (with their name, of course).

Having gone through the bicentennial coinage change long before I had no interest in saving any other examples.

That poor set is buried in the vault. Perhaps I should get a shovel and dig it out

That means the new collectors that were created by the State Quarter program will start showing up in about 10 to 15 years.
