I already have a 1909 vdb, but am looking for an upgrade. This one looks really nice to me, and I love the toning....but I wanted some additional inputs from you all. Does this color/appearance look natural? thanks Image: 333e_1_sbl.jpg31.2 KB

I really like the toning, and there are very few contact marks.

I love VDB's but they are really overpriced for how common they are. Anyhow, that's a nice one. -PP

It looks like a pretty nice VDB. I'm not sure what it grades MS64? I'm guessing it's worth every penny of $50, if not a little more.

I like it, but it kinda looks like one of those coppers that the chemist is working on to get the verdigris off of. If it is he did succeed in getting it off and still letting the coin be nice. See that area I am talking about? Guess I've been on this site too long, starting to see things - hallucinate as it were.

Thanks guys. I see what you are saying mfry, but I still really like the look. It's perfect for my type set that emphasizes toned coins. The ebay BIN was $26.99, so I snatched it up! :-D

$27? You did very good on that one.

I was concerned that the toning (may) not be natural. But worst case it's still WELL worth $27 IMO.

Nice "crisp" looking coin. I would say the toning is questionable but for what you paid, you did fine.

Thanks. I received the coin and it is very nice. The toning is actually a deep blueish silvery color, though it looks brown in the pictures. I'm not sure if it is artificial or natural, but it seems natural. It has full luster, so I believe at least the red portion of the coin as original surfaces. The only downside is a small hairline scratch by Lincoln's face. It looks great in my type set! :-)
