1985 1c LMC DDO From Mint Set?

So I found this guy in a mint set. The date has extra thickness and the 8 has it the most on the bottom portion.

Looking on Mr Wexler's web site I'm thinking it looks a lot like WDDO-003.

No, it is actually normal. This is a VERY early die state coin, like in the first hundred stamped, just really a fresh one. The Thickness is seen in the highest point, across the top of the digit, a DDO is wider there and down the sides to the fields. Good question tho...

All the devices have angled edges and a flat top when first made...like these diagrams show...further use rounds off these sharp edges...
