So I am moving into the coins that were "graded". Not sure by who, grandpa?(he was a member of many coin organizations) but probably in the 70s. Just want to see how close the grade on the cardboard matches to your expert eyes

Thanks again!!

VF20?...my guess, I'll post the whole photo this afternoon

Hard to see detail on the photo
but I would say it was VF20-VF30.
It is also a 1950 No Design with diecrack
which gives it a premium.

VF-20 seems about right to me but the obverse picture is blurry. Nice clear die cracks, the coin has alot of good character certainly worth some sort of premium.

Pics a bit blurry, but somewhere between VF-30 and XF-40.

Thanks everyone and sorry again for the pics. Not sure if these are better or worse. Used grandpas loupe and natural light this time *shrug*

Here is the grade that is written on the cardboard also

Given how much of the hair details remain by the part, I'd probably call it a VF.

In the days when he was active, most collectors didn't consider it a no-design unless the coin had the characteristic die cracks, but now we are not as stringent. I would grade it VF20-VF30 .

I believe ICCS now attributes both. Either "No Des" or "No Des with DB". Not sure about the partial.
