Possible RDV-005. So a 1987 or earlier.

I am trying to follow along on how certain years stand out, is it the FG letters that changed after 1988.

Correct. The FG is different on the RDV-005-7:
No-Date-Extreme-Off-Strike
Locations and shape of the 'G'.
