I've had this coin for a couple years and recently took a better look at it since becoming a little more knowledgeable in the past few months about coins and noticed that it is a possible DDO. I couldn't find it on wexlers but I did find a listing on variety that seemed to match. I attached some pics and highlighted the areas. It's not a super strong DD example but I believe one nonetheless. I also would like some opinions on grade and whether you think I should spend the money to have it graded. Ive read some horror stories and after my own research have come to the realization that if I ever wanted to part with it, a knowledgeable collector might not necessarily care whether it was officially graded. It would be more for the ebay type sale I guess. In my opinion I think it could grade to a 66-67. But that could be just my wishful thinking. There are a few small dings mainly on the obverse but there are no scuffs or anything from sliding across other coins. It def was never circulated.Opinions-On-Grade-Of-Possible-1968-D-Kennedy-DDO

That "may be", but it is too minor to be recognized. Their needs to be a bit more splits and indications so not a valuable example. If yo don't see it @ 10x, it goes unattributed. Grade, surfaces rough and enough small dings and contact on letters to put it 64/65 tops, but good example for Denver, most suck!

I actually found a thread from a couple years ago and I believe it's the same one they were talking about listed on CONECA. It's a lot easier to see in hand. It's hard to get the angle right with just my camera phone but it's pic zoomed in 5 times and just enlarged and cropped to see it better. Still it isn't anything super significant but because it seems like it's a hard coin to find in that condition I'm wondering if I should bother getting it slabbed. I myself don't like toned coins and I can see a little spot on the rim that's starting to turn a tad.

Crazyb0, I really wouldn't say "most suck!". It doesn't suck! I think it's still a good example of a minor Doubled Die Obverse. Who cares if it's minor. As long as OP is having fun, then let it be.

Thanks for the info guys. Like I said from the beginning it wasn't a major DD and barely noticeable. In person it looks like a couple of the examples of the lesser 64 DD's. If I had a better setup than just my phone it would prob look a little clearer. Either way my questions was more about having it graded professionally. Whether or not it would be worth it being in pretty good condition and having a minor DD.

Waynoah83,
As a general rule...the retail value of a coin needs to be at least $150 to justify all costs involved to have it slabbed. Here is some info on taking pics with a phone:http://goccf.com/t/160092

You can also one of those clip on magnifiers you clip on to your phone pretty cheap.

Good looking coin there Waynoah. I'm with you on at least a 65-66. As far as grading, I've tossed money out the window on grading, sometimes I win, sometimes I take a loss but honestly, I like doing it and will continue to do it.
As far as being a "minor" one, so what IMO, it's still a DDO. I just found a 1977-D and though it might not be just like the one in the CherryPickers Guide, I'm still sending it off to get graded as it's in pretty good condition. Then again, I like rocking the boat sometimes.

65 in my book, hardly worth having graded.

67 might have been some wishful thinking on my part. I did a little research last night and pretty much anything over 66 for the years between 67-70 is non existent with only like 40 or so ever grading that high. The reason I thought maybe it could is I found an example of a 67 and mine looked quite a bit better. That one had quite a few more dings and a pretty big scuff on it and I don't think it was the slab cause it was all over the coin face.

And as far as the clip on scope I have one and a regular coin scope. I'm gonna try to get some better pics. Looks like a minor DDO. Don't waste your money having it graded. I agree with MS-65.
