YesorNo, I don't think he was very popular in Quebec. I wonder if the FLQ Crisis and the politics of the time were the reason. I do recall someone in a few comics dressed up in a Fleur-de-Lys outfit, although I do not remember his name ...

Don't know, what triggered me to do this. Self-hyped mind. I ordered this just now from well known seller, cause it was with signed certificate. In the worst case - will give to my kid. The bad news could be: if the coin will be successful, RCM will pump more and more. Added: Quote:Silveroid, I tried your advice from #3. They will not sell it to me. He said the coin is moving very fast though (argh!). I paid the premium and bought some off of ebay before the price gets out of control. Sorry for this, JGG I've just done the same. Preferred to overpay, to get signed certificate. In my opinion, it adds value to colectability of the coin.

I'm not sure how many are left either. I will check periodically, but I'd imagine it will sell out soon.

No one knows if Captain Canuck Coin will be popular or not. Just like Falcon Lake Incident Coin. No one knows. Including RCM dealers. Otherwise......................

Justsilver, I agree 100%. I do like the direction the RCM is taking with these coins. By and large, coins like this appeal to me because of my truly Canadian upbringing and my sense of nostalgia for that time of my life! I hope the coin fares well so that more Canadiana coins are produced (not too many though).

Well, I live in Canada and never heard of this gentleman. Of course it may be that I was too "old" for comics when he came out.

Oriole, I would say 1975-1995 was the era that this was most popular. I'm not sure how old you were then? I make cultural references to Polkaroo and even occasionally Fraggle Rock and no one under the age of 35 has any idea what I am talking about. LOL

The idea is good in general for dedicated fan. But actually the same way, you can get the Post card, signed and some other cards.... + action figure.... + Lego figure ... Depends on the target of this purchase.
