Buying Presidential dollars by the rolls from the bank is the way to go. Is there a reason why the mint mark is not on the wrapper?

It should say either Philadelphia or Denver on the wrapper itself.

U.S. Mint wrapped rolls will have it on there...but who wants to pay the extra costs for ordering them from the Mint?......but not uncirc. rolls from the bank. They're wrapped by a separate company that doesn't care about that......

I swear I've gotten recent rolls from the bank and they have had the mint on them....or maybe this will be an excuse to pick up another roll?

The dollar rolls I've obtained at the bank have the presidents' names on the wrapper but not the mint.

That's why everybody hates the "edge inscription".....ya can't see any of the information while it's in a roll ........and if you're "saving rolls".....then once you've opened it, you've compromised the integrity of the roll !
I wonder whose brilliant idea this was originally ?.....and I believe they are going to correct this "oversight" and put it onto the face next year.

Do they send P and D mint marked Prez dollars all over the place?

I know that if I go to my bank and get a roll of anything, it's going to be a D mint mark - I would faint in the lobby if I ever got a P roll.

Is it different for the Prez dollars? I guess I thought it was just like nickels and dimes.

Most of the time it's "D" mint for me here in Kansas.....once, out of the six Presidents so far, my bank had a shipment of "P" mint rolls.....and the bank employee's were just as shocked as me !
Although not always...I think It's generally the case that your bank will get delivered whatever Fed Res Branch and/or Mint they're closest to. They are "distributed" wherever is most convienient for them.......so we'll be getting mostly "D" mint for the rest of our lives here in Kansas !
Other "circulated" "P" mint coins do turn up pretty fast here though !..
