I want to know about the dot on the shield. Is that an error?

The spot is a spot like all the other spots near it.

Just a stain or carbon spot, not an error.

It's not a stain as you can tell by the pics it's an indention. A perfect little circle. Almost dead center at the bottom of the shield

Either a carbon spot or a dent or both, as said above. No value.

Probably a dent of some kind.

It is level, it's a water spot or sneeze droplet. If it were raised, it might ne a split in the plating. Carbon spots are found on copper planchet coins. A die dent would be raised, yours in not raised. It is a stain from a sneeze droplet. (Even saliva will darken a coin)

That's why it's important to describe what you, yourself, are seeing. To everyone else looking at just pics it looks like a carbon sport or some other type of stain. As was also said, there are many spots that look like that on the coin so it is also a good idea to give an idea of the area where the issue occurs (e.g. very bottom of the shield, just above the southern point,a little left of center) as well as pics of both sides of the coin. You'll get a lot more help if you follow those simple steps. And as always, cover your mouth when you sneeze.

After doing research it appears it's more inline with a Rockwell test mark. 15T. What do you think?
