I just dug this today. It had hairline scratches due to it being a dug coin. I didn't "clean" it other than a rinse off water and 30 min in acetone. It looks like it has been cleaned just from being on granuals of dirt for so long. Other than it being a details coin, I think it may make AU. What do you think?

Pretty sharp for a dug coin, probably an early loss / pocket spill! I think it's solid in an AU grade.

Wire brushed to get the dirt off it - A NO, NO - just a details coin - but cool to find!

I didn't actually srcub it with anything to get the dirt off. I think it's covered in hairlines because it's been in a corn field since the coin was new. The soil gets turned up almost every year so it's probably moved around a lot. It would get a cleaned grade no doubt though.
