The best annual show for Canadian collectors starts Friday and through Saturday. A few CCF folks and I will be there Fri morn. I'll have yellow/orange shirt. It's at the reference library at Yonge & Bloor .. about a block and a half from a subway stop at Jack Astor's. http://www.torontocoinexpo.ca/Edited by okiecoiner 05/01/2018 11:19 am

+: Looks to be a show that is well worth the time and travel to attend. -: Not many younger people to be seen.

Sel you'd be surprised I see some younger people when I attend, and I am one if you consider 18 to be a young numismatist also I'm pretty sure the show offers some nice activities for the young ones..it's definitely the best show I've ever attended! to anyone looking out for me, i'll likely wear a blue flannel and perhaps a black coat and jeans..hope to meet some more members this Friday

I plan on attending Friday as well. I have been looking forward to it for a while. I'm not sure what I'll be wearing that day yet.

Have fun at the show guys... This is waaaaaaaaay to early for a Coin Expo show. The first weekend in May is ALWAYS the Trenton Walleye Derby, something I have enjoyed with my son, Mike Marshall and others for years... so while you guys are on the bourse or at the pub, I'll be trying to win a boat!! http://www.kiwaniswalleyeworld.com

I'll be there a little later this afternoon for a while, wearing a blue polka dot hoodie. I'll be back tomorrow for the seminars.

I was there early, but nothing earth-shattering so I left early. I DID, however, sell a few scarce Vickies to some friends so at least I left with more than what I had when I arrived.

the show was great, I sold a little and made some neat buys..one of which was a framed 1967 set that ended up having a 1969 Coin World paper in the back of the frame..didn't notice til I bought it and cut the back of the frame out. really excited for lot pick ups tomorrow i saw okie real quick, hung around with wizard1 a bit, had a great little show and tell with john100, then some cool coversations with altaira and some lot viewings. had a great day, can't wait for tomorrow

I was able to pick up a number of items on my want list yesterday, so it was well worth it. I didn't come across anyone on the forum here, but then again I have to admit I was paying more attention to the dealers' inventory than the people around me.

the show seemed pretty lively today but I was only there for about 20-30 minutes...good job to Geoffrey Bell auctions and team!, they're all very friendly and they make lot pickups run very smoothly. they are a beautiful mix of efficient and one-on-one/friendly

We were there on Friday for a few hours and found some decent buys. Spent the most time talking to (and buying from) Hugh from NewCan and Mike from Collect41. They are by far my favourite dealers when it comes to personality, knowledge, and fun -- and they had some beautiful pieces as well. There were a few dealers there was well which just didn't seem to care as if they were just there to make a buck and don't really have any interest in what they are selling. While my budget does not allow for anything incredible, I did pick up some great upgrades to my collection that started when I was just a wee one in the 80s. But this is what I did get my hands on for great prices totaling in at just over $500: 1832 Nova Scotia halfpenny ICCS EF-45 (BR#871) 1840 Nova Scotia halfpenny ICCS MS-60 (BR#874) 1844 Province of Canada halfpenny VF-20 1850 Bank of Upper Canada halfpenny VG-8 1882H Obv2 penny ICCS AU-55 (cleaned) 1888 penny ICCS MS-60 (trace red) 1894 penny ICCS MS-60 (trace red) 1895 penny ICCS MS-60 (trace red) 1908 penny ICCS MS-62 (red & brown) 1911 penny ICCS MS-60 (brown) 1917 penny ICCS MS-63 (red & brown) 1918 penny ICCS MS-63 (red & brown) 1920 penny ICCS MS-63 (red & brown) 1902 Large H 5-cent MS-64+ Only my second coin show and I don't think I fared out too poorly with what I was willing to spend! My girlfriend found some beautiful stamps for her collection as well. Can't wait for the next one!
