Hello, I don't think I've ever seen one of these before. I found it in a penny roll. Can you tell me what you think the condition is and if it has any value. Thanks

In reasonable terms in the U.S., it has no value. If in the U.K., then it has a value marginally higher than a U.S. cent.

By UK standards would probably grade about VF. They are extremely common coins and still in circulation. About 1.5 billion were made as this was the first production run for decimalisation in the UK and they needed a lot to replace the old coinage. Worth, in the UK GBP0.01 - about 1 1/2 cents US.
For circulation figures of UK coins see: https://www.royalmint.com/discover/...enny-issued/
These do not include proof and BU coins released in sets, so although it shows no coins for 1972, there are sets for this year. A 1972 penny in circulation is more interesting than a 1971 penny, and would be worth a pound or two in good condition.
