I am a new collector and I found a 1960 D penny that looks very odd. It is somewhat shiny and looks like a mix of copper and silver. I'm wondering if this is some kind of error or if anyone has seen this before and can tell me what it is. Thank you.

The 1960 cents were 95% copper and 5% tin, zinc and manganese. Your coin may be stained by something or even rubbed against it...I've found coins stuffed in all coffee cans looking like that. I think rubbing against the tin may have transferred some to the high point?
