I have this 1993 P LMC with what I believe has a collar break. This is the first one that I have came across and need some insight please.

My first thought was potential rim Cud. Check the edge and diameter if thinking a collar issue. Thanks, Doug.

Adding the obverse and reverse dies contain and create the raised design rim seen when the coin is viewed straight on.

An undamaged collar die when setup proper stops or restrains outward metal flow and aids the creation of the coins edge and maintains diameter. Also the rim and other devices benefit by what I'll describe as a backfill effect. Thanks, Doug.
