Any numismatic value in this grade, or just melt? Paid below melt for it.

Good buy. Not a scarce date but I would buy this for melt in a heart beat.

I had one of these, of the same date and condition.
It takes it's part in a complete portrait set of English / British Shillings, Charles 11 - Elizabeth 11.

My son now owns that set.

An important coin in my numismatic life. My example was the very first coin that started me on my numismatic adventure, at 12 years old.
That was 60 years ago; my father gave it to me.
Therefore, my coin has far more than just catalog value.

A common coin in this condition, but a steal at below melt!

I have previously posted another 1826 shilling which I found marked 1896. I looked at George, and the date on the 2 x 2, and said to myself "I don't think so."

Value of a VF coin from 1826 will almost always be well above melt value. Considering this to be a bullion coin is, in a word, stupidity. Buy all you can for that price.

Nice eye appeal.
