My son and I found what I believe is a 1973 NO FG Kennedy.

I saw pics from another guys post, that there can be a "ghosted" G. I don't feel that this looks similar to the ghosted G, but the are where to FG goes is not perfectly flat either. Although the slightly uneven parts, look no different the the slight imperfections elsewhere on a half dollar. Still I see nothing resembling an F or G.

Any opinions? If you think its a NO FG, is it worth having graded? The rest of the coin is in decent shape IMHO.

1973-No-FG-Half-Dollar?

Thanks guys

Here is the normal location. Depends on how much is polished off if there is some there or not. This might help.

Thanks Coop.

Does anyone have an opinion on weather this coin would be graded as a "No FG"?

I'm trying to decide if I should send it in for grading. Anyone have any experience sending "NO FG" coins in for grading?

Thanks again for any help.

I figure that someday they will realize that these are just over polished examples and quit listing them like the 1969 Lincoln cents that they stopped listing. I can't see it bringing more of a premium than what it will cost to have it slabbed. IMOHO

I'd rather buy a coin that is a variety. But that is just me.
