got this eagle cent from a dealer, wondering how rare this is.

Not really a "rare" coin, 17.5 mil produced, the 1856 is the rarity coin. The FE's were only a three year type 1856-1858, Then the Indian Heads took off. Yours is in fairly nice condition, G4-G8, typical weak struck date, should be about a $15-20 coin.

Two year type, the 1856 is a pattern not a coin. The flying Eagle design wasn't adopted until February 1857.

It's a common date Flying Eagle cent. The rarest date in the series is the 1856, a pattern coin.

Yours is not very rare, but worth above $10.
