VF (cleaned). The sort of crown I might pay a dollar or two above bullion.

If you want a 'crown' for your collection, the design of this coin screams it at you. The problem with 1937 Crowns is they didn't circulate much, because they were unpopular. Why a problem? - Because circulation wear is never extensive, and the grade opinions expressed here are about the lowest you can get for these. I disagree with the 1937 opinion of the Australian Public, but the unpopularity fact remains. I have an example that is in exactly the same condition as this one, complete with mild steel wool cleaning. I bought mine for BV + 25%. The Shilling may have also been cleaned, but in this case, perhaps a gentle acetone soaking. Next to being a perfectly pristine coin. I don't often grade Australian coins using Sheldon, but for the benefit of the majority of CCF members, MS65, it has a tiny gouge above the right horn of the sheep, and three tiny dings near the star. Also It has a die chip below the vertical leg of the 'R', which makes the coin a bit more interesting. The ariean model for this coin was a top prize winning ram from the New South Wales sheep station of Haddon Rig. Before WW2, Australia was the largest producer of wool in the World, and provided the largest export income for the Country.

The shilling looks pretty good and the grade that Sel offered is about right for the reverse but that will all hinge on the condition of the obverse

It was the 1957, not the 63.

@sel_69l yeap that why it (crown) was cancel at the end of 1938, however I do see a lot of them being turned into jewellery pieces, plus I think most of the cleaning was done by the dealers to try increasing there (crown, and some others) value mostly through the 1970s to 80s.

AU/UNC for the 1937 CROWN. Very handsome coin BTW. AU for the 1957 coin. No details on the above coins either. PLUS much could be done to improve their appearance 100% ethically as well.
Pics of the other coins are tooo blurred for me too comment.
Awesome finds. I love them. Looking good!

this was when I just start on pre decimal coins. Now that I know more,I think the Crown may or may not have been cleaned, but would get at least details grade of excessive hairlines with a EF/AU. Where as the Schilling would be in Mint State grades, with the 1957 possibly getting a variety grade as there seem to be a CUD/die Chip on the R of Australia and the 1963 Schilling either has a small gouge on top of the, or strike through on some obstruction.
All bought from another lifelong collector, need to sell cause I think he was retiring and going to move interstate.
