I also received my carousel coin from CC&C today. I love this coin! The COA # is very low, around 20s. Thank you CC&C! p.s. I think Mr Bromberg might be involved with this coin. Because CC & C is the first to ship this coin, even before RCM. Also, CC&C got low COA numbers. However, as long as the quality is great, I don't mind if the coin is partially or fully commissioned.

Looks very good.
I still can't refer this to the coins, but nice, very nice. Congrats for picking this up.

The coin I bought at the Post Office has a low COA too, in the 20's. So it is just not CC&C that have low COAs.
The coin is beautiful but I have to be careful handling the capsule. Since it is plastic it scratches easily. Also, if I drop it I am sure it will break.

I am a big proponent of "Collect what you like" and I am very happy that so many on this thread like this coin. That said, it does nothing for me; I have a tough time calling it a coin. It is a stunning example of what skilled silversmiths, artisans and engineers can accomplish but slapping the number 50 and the Queen's head on it doesn't make it a coin. The nice thing about the face value set was that it was legal and legitimate (regardless of resistance) to walk into a grocery store and use a $20 Bugs Bunny to purchase your milk and eggs. It is legal also to use the $100, Keeper of Parliament Unicorn for the same transaction, although more fool you for absorbing a 90% loss in the transaction. Nobody will ever accept the carousel or the starship enterprise or a murano ladybird or a bear statue in payment for a grocery store transaction. I realise how ridiculous this sounds... using a Carousel with a face value of $50 to buy milk & eggs but that is the basis of NCLT with the focus on the "LT" I also collect Royal Doulton figurines, Caithness glass paperweights, guitars as well as some other odd items but they don't need to be able to buy milk and eggs as well for me to value them. Check out the French Mint site: https://www.monnaiedeparis.fr/en/shop (this is the english language page). You will notice that in addition the expected fare of proof, unc, & circulating coins and sets they also sell jewelry, statues, medals etc. All of which allow their craftsmen to expand their creative horizons but are not classed as coins with a circulation value and, I am assuming bring in additional revenue to the mint. What frustrates me most though is that the RCM had a great opportunity to celebrate pre-confederation coins in this June release and IMHO, blew it through poor design choices... (finish, size, lack of authenticity on language and monarch) but they invest significant sums of money on Carousels, GITD et al. The RCM has gone past jumping sharks and is now apparently jumping movable carousels.

I totally agree with the previous post, it's great that the unit is selling for well above issue, but as a coin one would probably be very disappointed in the size of both coin and carousel. The movement is just not practical as mentioned and to be displayed, a lot of people collect Swarovski that cost 3 to 10 times this price but they are designed to be in a display case but I do wish all happiness for those who purchased, just that this is not earth shattering RD from the RCM

Congrats to those who purchased it. In my honest opinion, I love the look and design of the actual coin. It's very well done. I just don't like the look of the actual carousel.

Interesting picture from seller Mario95. He seem to have cornered the market on these carousel coins. Not only that he has 2 low COAS, #3 and #7. Also, of the 10 ebay listings, 5 of them have COAs below 100: 3, 7, 25, 62, 82. This indicates these coins are from two sources: CC&C or RCM Mint Boutiques; given the RCM and TSC not shipped them yet.

It would not surprise me if Mario95 was Bromberg himself.

Household limits pshaw! Why would he show that he has so many coins instead of trying to appear that these coins are scarce? Certainly not motivated by profit and trying to keep prices low!

Quote: Household limits pshaw! Why would he show that he has so many coins instead of trying to appear that these coins are scarce? It is known fact that some people are more equal than others, so no issues with the HH limit. You right about posting picture with multiple items. For me, and I think not only, it destroys the scarcity of the item. If the seller could have them all and picture...this is other story.

Interesting what is happening on ebay. Prices are dropping like a rock as they change every day. There are 2 sellers that battling in a race to the bottom to see how low they can sell the carousel coin for. Right now the lowest price is $1095, with best offer. They must be desperate to get rid of the coins. These guys are dragging down all the prices with their undercutting.
