I have a 1953A star note that is exactly like this one serial only couple thousand ahead of yours mine was somehow stamped counterfeit and then markered over and put back into circulation . It is in amazing condition I tried cleaning the marker off with acetone, gas, mineral spirits, even soap and water and the note looks like it did in 1953! I cant get any info on it everyone seems to be awestruck at the counterfeit blunder

The note appears to be genuine, and I'm guessing it was stamped "Counterfeit " by someone who was not familiar with older Silver Certificates.

True stamped by someone who has no business with a stamp

Thing is, it would not be difficult to "counterfeit" something like this, so I'm guessing the premium would not be very high.

I think Coinmaster76 wants to know what it would be worth without the offending stamp.

Without the stamp, maybe $20-$30.....not that rare, and the note is in Fine to Very Fine condition.
