Need some help on grading and if this a die variety. I took pictures with digitak scope using 2 lighting types. I see some marking by the "1" but don't know if it happened post mintage. I am in the VF-20 range on my grading. Thanks as always for the help.

I don't think the pictures are grainy. The coin's surfaces, specifically the fields are grainy, which brings into question the coin's authenticity. Also, the rims are shiny and scraped. The bottom of the bust is also scraped and scratched. Looks about f15 but with some issues.

If you try again, back away from the coin some. They will be smaller but hopefully in focus.
