Did some noodling. Machine ran out of 50c rolls on Tuesday so I went at got $100 of 10c. Turned out to be a blessing in disguise; scored a 1985, the last coin needed to finish my collection, and a very nice 1972. Succeeded in getting 50c rolls later in the week and found four new finds. How did that Daring 50c get in there? In all seriousness though, now I need 8 more to finish off my 50 cents. Also noodled some $2 rolls and got a Rosemary, Repatriation, and 75th anniversary of WW2.

Did some noodling. Account went bust last week so couldn't noodle as much. I did manage to get some rolls though. Account was back up again this week so I did a lot of catching up. Somehow I found another two Anzac Spirit 50 cents: I also got around to noodling some $1 coins, and managed to score two of the GACH3 coins and a Volunteers coin. Yes, for a coin which should be relatively easy to find I found only last week. The thing I like with my 50c collection is that you can upgrade any coins if you find a really shiny one. Well, that's what I did with my Cook 70, 71, 72, 76, 78, 79 (non double bar), 83 and 84. And finally, the actual finds I needed: If you look closely at the Millennium 50 cent, you'll notice it's the "Fat Letter" variety. An incuse would have made my day hands down, but at least I only have 7 more coins left! Anyone know the mintage for that?

Did a lot of noodling and purchasing over the past two weeks. I managed to get my hands on $300 of 50 cent coins and found: 1. A Rams Head 2. A low-mint 1993 3. A Northern Territory CoF 4. A Western Australia CoF I also pulled a very high quality 1994 Year of the Family. And just for the record, no, I don't give a darn about the wide and narrow date varieties. I'm already having trouble finding an incuse, so I don't wanna add insult to injury. Meanwhile during another, smaller noodle of $100 50 cent coins, I also found a very oxidised 1975 50 cent from Fiji: I figured that considering I've finished off the circulation set of 5, 10, and 20 cent coins, I should probably buy the mint pack only years. Well, the 5 cent coins from 85 and 86 were all gone at the coin shop I went to, so I just settled on the first two mint pack years for the 10 cent, 1986 and 1987: And finally I also managed to buy two of the large crown commemorative dollar coins from New Zealand: For those that are interested, they were $3 each. The store I went to had some other years for higher prices but I'll have to buy them another time. darn it, though, they didn't have the 1967!

Hey guys, Mum found some more of my uncles old coins, seems he really liked the 1977 silver jubilee 50c coins, so much so that he got a whole mint roll! Plus a few extras. Some of the coins have quite a pretty peachy bronze tone to them too. I know they're not worth much more than face value but they're very nice coins & There were also 41 x 1966 50c coins and a few Florins and Shillings. &

Nice coin too with all of those crowns. 47 x 1966 50's , that's a nice bunch - they're 'worth their weight in silver' pretty much being 80% Ag. @OzCollection too The Kiwi Crowns look nice. Princetane is the Kiwi collector here to chat with, his wealth of knowledge on that subject (and most others) is amazing. I have just started to dabble in them myself, mainly collecting the half crowns. I have them all apart from the 1944. They are the pricey ones which is ok, but I'm looking for an EF minimum, at the right price. Princetane told me to be patient and not to go paying too much. For once I am listening to him, because patience ain't my strong suit. Happy noodling!

Did some noodling. Nothing much to show for the 50c coins except this BU 1980 double bar: For some reason I've found the 1993 five times since my $300 noodle a while back. Yes, we are finding a coin with the same mintage (1 million) as the 1985 more often, and that's saying something because we haven't found a 1985 at all! I think if things get desperate I might have to start asking around if anyone has any spares. (No photos as I'm not bothered to fish them out of the bag) I went through some five cent rolls because I'm using the coins for a showcase, and surprise, surprise, I found a second 1972, a 5c coin from New Zealand, and a 5-denomination coin from Papua New Guinea. Might sell the 1972 I previously had for $8 on ebay. I didn't noodle this one, but one of my friends found a 2021 donation dollar and gave it to me: Also went through some two dollar rolls and found a blue Possum Magic, a Gus, a Wallabies, and a Henry the Octopus (completing my wiggles $2 collection). Will post this next time, but I'm getting a Police $2 from a contact I know tonight, and I'm bringing some more $2 coins to swap out, as I have a feeling .

Also if anyone is interested, here's how I store my coins: Yeah, I know, some people will get mad about it. I think it's fine though. Might upgrade it sooner or later. Where I store what types of coins should be self-explanatory.

OzCollection, I hope you are storing your best examples in an album.
As for storing your hoard coins, you'll find you'll need a much bigger container very soon!
