The only thing I can come up with is that it is a token/medal of some sort having to do with St. Ignatius. It may be from the 19th Century. Religious items are difficult to pin down.

Agree it seems to be a religious medal of some sort.

Legend in first photo might be a quote about religion(s) in Latin?

IN second photo, IHS is a monogram for the name of Jesus, and the legend seems to read COLLEGIVN SHACVSINVM BOC IESU.

BOC could be an abbreviation for the Brothers of Charity religious order: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brothers_of_Charity

So perhaps the medal pertains to a school or similar institution run by the Brothers of Charity?

EDIT: " Religioni et Bonis Artibus" (Religion and Fine Arts) is the motto of Boston College, a university in Boston (USA), which was founded by the Jesuit (Catholic) religious order. The IHS emblem is identical to the emblem used by the Jesuit order. So a better guess is that this medal pertains to an institution run by the Jesuits, which is in line with the comment by @Spruett.

Jesuit medal which references Dubrovnik, Croatia, presumably what is now the University of Dubrovnik, founded by the Jesuits in 1624.

The Latin inscription has been damaged by hits to the medal but should properly read COLLEGIVM RHAGVSINVM SOC IESV or "Ragusina College Society of Jesus", Ragusina (Ragusa) being the Latin and Italian name for what is now Dubrovnik.

RELIGIONI ET BONVS ARTIBVS is a motto used by many Jesuit (and other religious) schools, preparatory or ecclesiastical, and means "Religion and (the) Fine Arts" as noted above. Some schools offer a degree by the same name, usually with a focus on religion as presented through art -- painting, sculpture, literature, music, etc.

IHS is a Christogram for ιησους or IHSOUS, the Greek name for Jesus (Latin IESU/IESV).

Nice work, paralyse, getting that second word in the the legend! I had looked through the list of Jesuit institutions for a match, but thinking it started with an S, came up blank.
Also a good geographic fit for where the question came from.
