I'm hoping someone can help identify this coin, I've looked online, but can't find something which is an exact match

I've attached a couple of pictures. I'm fairly sure it's a fake, but just want to double check in case I need to keep it somewhere safer!

You'll probably find that a suspension loop was filed off at the top. It's a watch fob.

Welcome to the forum.

The style mimics the 1823 George IV double sovereign, but the design is much more crude.

I have worse, somewhere. There is a theory that because the quality is so poor that they may have been "fairings." Prizes at fairground amusement booths.
