Not for sure 96 even has an extra earlobe did. I found out that 97 does....Looks extra to me.. but need expert opinion? Any thoughts?

Have you tried a toothpick on it? It looks like a gas bubble under the plating?

I agree that pushing it with a toothpick is a worthy enterprise, but looks like a DDO so worthy of some more poking and prodding to make sure it's not just a bubble.
