My question is about the 4 in the date. The part of the 4 that is closest to Jefferson's hair I thought was suppost to be flat. I noticed it is not flat like ones I seen online. It kinda dips in. I hope you understand where I'm talking about. Just wondering if it's post mint damage or not.

I do see what you're asking about. I would say that a piece of material was in the die to cause the split at the bottom of the 4.

You can sometimes see that effect on the base of the uprights on letters on a coin, it is called bifurcation and is the result of strike and filling of the letters. but usually you will see it on several letters. Since that isn't the case here the chances are much better that it is just the result of a contact hit to the bottom of the 4.

Must be a well placed hit.

I was looking up a stock set of images from PCGS on this year. I was shocked at the toned nickels they have there:

Probably all from the same person?
