I don't know if I'm allowed to post two items at once so please take it down if in violation. I appreciate any assistance.

Well, the one on the right is definitely a US quarter of modern issue. Sorry I couldn't resist! Don't worry someone will know. Edge pictures and weight can be helpful.

The first is a copy of a "gold doubloon" I believe, see the coating come off? The second appears to be a Ptolemaic period coin but I suspect it too is fake. Not at my computer to research it.

It is. It's a documented fake of a Ptolemy XII/Cleopatra VII tetradrachm.

Here are a couple from Forum's fake reports:

No weight and dimensions needed....

Indeed, both are replica's
The first is a 8 reales pirate coin.
You will find it propably here:
http://www.sedwickcoins.com/fake_cobs.htm

The second is a 'tourist' replica

I'd have to agree both are replicas.

The 1736 "pirate coin" is mass-produced and sold at numerous pirate-themed places, including Disneyland; you can find it right down the bottom of the Sedwick page linked above.
