Hi,
Even if it was doubled on the O of ONE, it would not be a doubled die.

Machine Doubling is the likely cause since it can be found on one or more details. The Key in this statement is that it can be found on only one letter.

Thanks,
Bill

Hi,
A semi-consistent bit of Machine Doubling is not uncommon on coins of the same date. For example I see hundreds of Kennedy half dollars that are similarly machine doubled but that doesn't constitute a die variety.

I understand your question but for what you described, the die variety would be a doubled die. So no doubled die in this case means no die variety.

Thanks,
Bill
