The auction cost me $65 with shipping. Are they worth it grade wise?

Hiya 50cents,

The 1934 has some definite rub on Liberty's breastplate and on the eagle's breast feathers. The luster in the fields seems slightly dulled. I'd give this one an AU-55.

The 1935 looks like a solid BU with great luster. I'd say it deserves an MS-64 in which case you made an excellent buy. A couple years ago I paid about $60 for a raw 1935 that I thought was a '64 but PCGS only saw it as MS-63. I've attached photos. If yours only earns an MS-63 then considering you also got the 1934 you made a better deal than I did!

For the record, your photos do a much better job of showing the luster than mine do!

I agree with Jaobler on the '34 being AU. The '35 looks ms64, perhaps ms65 on a good day. $65 with shipping? Sweet!

I think you did all right. The '34 may be AU but it looks top shelf AU -- it has a better split hand than the '35 does. I think the strike and apparent hairlines/blemishes in the obverse field keep the '35 at MS64. Both are nice coins and I think well worth the money you paid. By the way, I doubt their value justifies slabbing either.

Thanks everyone!

Jaobler, I like your 35.

You just don't find many deals on ebay anymore not like in the early days. I plan on putting these two in one of my National Albums and enjoy them for what they are... I prefer my Walkers with a little color :)
