Hello community. Found this coin in my change the other day. It appears to have a second eye in front of the other. In the correct angle, the same can be seen on the bottom of the neck between the neck and QUARTER DOLLAR. Same for chin, lips and nose. Not worried about those though. My question is mainly the eye. I have found a similar one before but lost it. Tell me if you think this is a true error or simply PMD.

Thanks in advance!

Most of the doubled dies are in the central areas of the dies on the 50 States series and the ATB Quarters. So on this coin the target areas are oh the earlobes and the nose on the statue.

There's several of these. But the DDRs are found on these areas.

Looking at the eye with my phone, it looks like what happened is contact on the eye are, moved some metal to the left. That is what you saw. So there's nothing wrong with your eyes. You just need the right coin to look at. When you find it, you will know without question that you have a doubled die. Then you will ask yourself, why did I look so hard at coins that were normal? Then you will know what I say about a doubled die leaping out at you. Keep looking and learning. You will find something great.
