Im not coin collector, but today my mother gave me 4 sovereign coins. maybe anyone can help me? thanks in advance. sorry for poor picture, this is the best I can do, because I have poor cellphone. I can;t well about the 1911 one, but given its association with three other coins that are fake, I would be skeptical. Just because they are fakes, does not mean they are not made of real gold. It is common in the Middle East to make "jewellery copies" of gold coins out of solid gold, perhaps weighing slightly less than the genuine coins, or being slightly less fine. You would need to get them tested, but perhaps weigh them. If they weigh about the same as a genuine sovereign (7.98 grams) then they probably are made of gold. Don't say "infinitely" when you mean "very"; otherwise, you'll have no word left when you want to talk about something really infinite. - C. S. Lewis Report this Post to the Staff
